Doris Johnson Brown a Jersey City Police Detective and Executive Director of Community Uplift Project (C.U.P.J.C.) organized a Breaking the Silence Against Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 6PM, at the corner of Duncan and Bergen Avenue in response to the recent domestic violence murder of Milagros Rodriguez De Morel on October 18th.
The discussion brought awareness to the effects of domestic violence on both the families and community by members of Sarah’s Daughters Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation, Jersey City Anti Violence Coalition Movement (J.C.A.V.C.M.), Blacks in Law Enforcement Serving the Community (B.L.E.S.C.), Councilman Chris Gadsden, and Jessica Hellinger.
